Welcome to August in this record breaking Summer of heatwaves. It has been great seeing the courts being used so much, especially as so many of the Competition matches, both internal and with other Clubs have now concluded. And Sam’s Holiday camps have also meant that the Home of Tennis is buzzing.
As the Competition fixtures are almost done the weekly Ladies and Gents team practices are starting up again, so do check the court booking system before arriving to make sure you will find a court free.
Wednesday social is a fun night and if you haven’t been for a while, you really should come along.
Thursday has “Robs boys” named in memory of our much loved Rob Lambert who put this evening together for those men who wanted competitive tennis but not necessarily team matches. It continues in his name still.
Friday night we have more social time and Saturday morning the same.
Sunday morning has our most popular drop-in session run by Master Coach, Brian Linskey. Great fun.
But just a reminder – you do need to be a member to join any of these sessions and play at the Club.
Could I just remind those who are using our very new and wonderful floodlights to please turn them off after you have used them. They might be free to use but are not free to run.
And if you are the last to leave – make sure that the clubhouse and gate are closed and locked when you go.
