What’s on this month

April

Welcome to April and the start of our new tennis year. Spring has officially sprung, and that usually means that our fair-weather members pick up the courage to take to the courts again to get those steps and hits in. So if you have been hibernating, welcome back.

April also brings with it the start of our competitive WDTL matches which will go on all through the Summer months. Our competitors in the leagues often comment on the support our teams receive when playing at Croxley (the Home of Tennis) and we hope that continues this and every season. I will endeavour to publish a weekly update of who is playing which matches where to make you supporting the teams easier. I am sure you will join me in wishing all our Ladies, Mens and Mixed doubles teams every success for the season.

And this year we will also be entering some junior teams into competitions which all bodes well for the future of Croxley Tennis Club going forward – a great testament to our award winning coach Sam.

As our WDTL matches start in the 2nd week of April that means that the regular weekly Winter men’s Monday night and Ladies’ Tuesday night sessions will end as the courts will be needed for fixtures.

Wednesday social is a fun night and if you haven’t been for a while, you really should come along.

Thursday has “Robs boys” named in memory of our much loved Rob Lambert who put this evening together for those men who wanted competitive tennis but not necessarily team matches. It continues in his name still.

Friday night we have more social time and Saturday morning the same.

Sunday morning has our most popular drop-in session run by Master Coach, Brian Linskey. Great fun.

Could I just remind those who are using our very new and wonderful floodlights to please turn them off after you have used them. They might be free to use but are not free to run.
